About Flux
Named for the move from hot to cold.
Flux builds wood-fired saunas and ice baths for businesses: the parks, glamping sites, venues and first-time founders bringing heat and cold to the outdoors. The name is the experience: the shift from heat to cold, and from an idea to something real.
How it started
A DIY ice bath on the banks of Ullswater.
On a trip to the Lake District, Harry Rix sat in a DIY ice bath on the banks of Ullswater and thought it could be done properly. Back in Hull, with surplus timber from Victory Leisure Homes and a clean IBC, the first ice bath was built. Harry still uses it three times a week.
Then came the sauna, and a bigger question: why should someone who wants to run a sauna have to work everything else out alone?
Who we are
Part of the Rix Group.
Flux is part of the Rix Group, alongside Victory Leisure Homes, which has been building holiday homes and lodges in Hull for decades. Our saunas and ice baths are built at Victory's site in Hull by the same skilled team, with specialist parts such as chillers from trusted suppliers.
[NEED: Rix Group / VLH founding year or "decades" figure to make this specific]
What we believe
Four things we won't budge on.
Outdoors is the point
Real fire, real timber, real weather, and a good view.
Rustic, not rough
Crafted, characterful kit that's built for commercial life.
Honest about the work
Running a sauna business is rewarding and demanding. We won't pretend otherwise.
Don't disappear at delivery
A maker should help you get set up and stay reachable after.
Proving it on our own park
Bryn Morfydd, North Wales.
Our first sauna and ice bath are going in at Bryn Morfydd, a holiday park in North Wales owned by Harry. It's where we're piloting the whole model, including the booking platform and marketing, before we offer it to others.
